Palm Beach

Set on a steep site in the valley above Palm Beach, this project turns a slope most would treat as a constraint into the site's defining asset. The house steps down through the contour toward the water, opening onto a pool and deck that hold the best of the view, while a perforated concrete-block screen wraps the building's edges, filtering light and privacy without closing the house off from its surroundings.

Inside, a folded timber ceiling anchors the main living space, and a sculptural open-tread stair threads between levels, tying the home's different platforms together as it steps down the hill alongside them.
